Returned Goods Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Kansas City Clinical Supply Services Supervisor of Returned Goods and Destruction supports clinical trial projects through the management of a core team of professionals who process/reconcile and prepare GMP and returned clinical trial material for destruction.

This position will have the opportunity to interact with many other departments (i.e. Project Management, Contracts Administration, Proposals, Quality Assurance, safety, etc.) within the site and clients both on a local and global level. The main operational goal is to establish return and destructions projects as required to meet the growing business needs of our customers.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support daily stand-up meetings to review and improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

  • Safe operation and group compliance of electric forklift, Big Joe and related equipment and training.

  • Responsible for the overall Quality of output produced by the Returned Goods operation.

  • Assistance with investigations (Discrepancies, Deviations and Complaints) as well as CAPA identification and closure.

  • Coordinate with external clients the Returns Summary activities to ensure the Returns Protocol is accurately written.

  • Supervise daily activities to meet on time delivery to internal and external clients for the processing of the daily clinical returns, processing of IDR’s and material destruction preparation, movement of materials, internally and externally, incoming & outgoing, physically and within Returned Goods inventory systems.

  • Provide periodic check-ups of employees at their daily assignment to ensure comfort of employee in the task and compliance of employee with the task.

Position Requirements:

Education or Equivalent: High-school diploma or GED is required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years prior experience supervising in a Manufacturing, Warehouse or Distribution Operations environment is required.

  • Three years’ experience in inventory control and materials handling in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment is preferred.

  • Pharmaceutical Industry experience is preferred.
