As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12, you will serve as project leader responsible for developing, assigning, and coordinating duties and projects for systems administrators. The project members are specifically assigned to one or more of the multiple system platforms located throughout the state. Serve as the senior systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Direct testing of vendor-provided software. Troubleshoot problems and implements changes on multiple computer platforms. Diagnose system failures to isolate source of problems between equipment, system software, and application programs. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Must begin process of process of obtaining Top Secret/SCI security clearance within 60 days of appointment.
- The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C22.214.171.124 or C126.96.36.199. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have the following IT related experience: The experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT Certification). 1. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:One year of specialized experience at GS-11 level (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Specialized experience must include Microsoft Active Directory administration, VMware administration, design and implementation of clustered or high-availability Windows Server operating systems, and SQL database.
